1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how Mera Nivas ("we", "us", or "our"), developed and published by Tekora Labs Private Limited (listed on Google Play as Tekora Labs), collects, uses, stores, shares, and protects your personal information when you use our mobile applications and related services.
By creating an account or using any Mera Nivas app, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.

We collect information that you provide directly, that is generated through your use of the apps, and that we receive from third-party services integrated with our platform.
2.1 Information You Provide
- Account & profile data: Full name, email address, mobile number, profile photo, role (resident, admin, security staff), and login credentials.
- Society & residence data: Society name, building/block, flat or unit number, ownership or tenancy details, and related residence information.
- Visitor & gate data: Visitor names, contact numbers, vehicle details, entry/exit timestamps, photos, and gate pass or QR code information.
- Complaints & support data: Text, images, or attachments submitted through complaint or help features.
- Payment data: Maintenance fee amounts, payment history, receipts, and transaction references. We do not store your full card, UPI PIN, or bank login credentials. Payment card and banking details are processed directly by our payment partners.
- Vehicle data: Vehicle registration numbers and related parking information.
- Communications: Messages, notices, announcements, and other content you send or receive through the platform.
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Device & app data: Device model, operating system version, app version, unique device identifiers, and crash or diagnostic logs needed to maintain app stability.
- Push notification tokens: Device tokens used to deliver alerts, society notices, payment reminders, and emergency notifications.
- Usage data: Features accessed, session activity, and general interaction patterns to improve app performance and reliability.
- Location data (where enabled): Approximate or precise location when you grant permission, used for location-based services and, in the admin app, emergency alert features.
- Advertising identifiers: The resident app may use advertising IDs through Google AdMob to display ads.
2.3 Information from Device Permissions
Depending on the app and features you use, we may request access to:
- Camera — to capture profile photos, visitor photos, complaint attachments, and QR code scanning.
- Photo library / storage — to upload or save images related to profile, visitors, complaints, or notices.
- Notifications — to send society updates, payment alerts, visitor approvals, and emergency messages.
- Location — to provide location-based services and emergency alerts where applicable.
- Microphone (Guard app only) — only when audio recording features are explicitly used.
You can manage these permissions through your device settings. Some features may not work if required permissions are denied.

- Deliver society management services, process payments, and notify you of society updates.
- Provide society management features including billing, visitor management, notices, complaints, parking, and communication tools.

- Display advertisements in the resident app through Google AdMob (where applicable).

4. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal data.

- Society administrators and authorized staff: Resident and visitor information is shared with your housing society's authorized admins, committee members, and security personnel as required to operate society management features.
- Service providers: We use trusted third-party providers who process data on our behalf, including:
- Cashfree — payment processing and transaction verification (Cashfree Privacy Policy)
- Google Firebase / Google Play Services — push notifications and app infrastructure (Google Privacy Policy)
- Google AdMob — advertising in the Mera Nivas resident app (Google Privacy Policy)
- Expo — over-the-air app updates and push notification delivery (Expo Privacy Policy)
- Cloud hosting providers — secure storage and operation of our servers.
- Legal requirements: When required by applicable law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request.
- Business transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to continued protection of your data.
Each third-party provider is permitted to use your data only as necessary to provide services to us and is expected to maintain appropriate security measures.
5. Data Retention

- Active account data is permanently deleted within 30 days of a confirmed deletion request.
- Backup copies are purged within 90 days.
- Certain financial or transaction records may be retained longer where required by applicable Indian tax, audit, or legal obligations. Such data is isolated from active use and deleted once the legal retention period expires.
- Anonymized or aggregated data that cannot identify you may be retained for analytics and service improvement.
